Theta has developed a strong senior management team comprising industry experts with vast experience in leading banks and large corporations.
Leong Kwok Hung
Founder and Managing Director
Leong Kwok Hung is the founder and chief executive of Theta. After a career in financial control and technology delivery spanning 20 years with global money centre banks and insurance companies in the UK and Malaysia, he founded Theta with a vision to build world class software from Asia. He assembled a team of ex-bankers and technologist in Malaysia and brought to market the first cross product loan origination platform for retail lending.
He charts the company’s strategy and is engaged in business development, building Theta’s partner relationships and mentoring Theta’s leaders.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a bachelor’s degree in Computing and Economics from the University of East Anglia, UK.
Hew How Fong
Chief Technology Officer
Hew How Fong is responsible for the technology direction, architecture and technical skills development in Theta. He has more than 20 years hands-on experience in building large scale leading edge enterprise applications for wealth management and credit workflow for global tier-1 banks.
Partnering with leading banks in the region, he is fully engaged in the lifecycle for intellectual property creation, from business and system requirement study, technical conceptualization to development, and commercialisation to meet the fast-changing needs of our partner banks for digital banking.
He holds a 1st class honours bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University Malaya and Honourable Mention in the Malaysia Mathematical Olympiad Competition.
Yap Siew Lan
Product Director
Yap Siew Lan is responsible for the product and solution direction and the upkeep of domain expertise of Theta. She has more than 20 years experience in branch operations and service delivery and back office processing in retail banking.
Leveraging on her vast experiences and constant engagement with senior client stakeholders and banking industry experts, she contributes her core expertise and knowledge across all our departments in the implementation of our loan origination solution, designing of new product modules and continuous upgrading of existing product to set us apart and keep us at the forefront of the competition.
Hong Chee Yoong
Chief Operation Officer
Hong Chee Yoong oversees the overall PMO and day to day operations in Theta. He has over 20 years of experience in IT/Digital Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, project management, software development, service delivery and consultancy. He works closely with senior management from both business and IT stakeholders to ensure business and project objectives are aligned and achieved. Hong has managed large and complex projects and consultancy relating to Digital Strategy, IT Operating Model, Core Banking, Wealth Management, eProcurement and others.
He holds a MBA (major in Finance) from the Nottingham University and bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University Malaya. He is also a PMP, Scrum Master, ITIL v3 foundation and TOGAF certified.
